Barcelona Cruise Port are active participants of Barcelona’s Sectorial Sustainability Plan
01.07.2020 Barcelona Cruise Port are active participants of Barcelona’s Sectorial Sustainability Plan

Simultaneously, the period of inactivity during 2020 and 2021 allowed Barcelona Cruise Port to reflect upon the impact Barcelona has within the cruise industry. Whether that be made apparent through increasing traffic or a rise in destination popularity from cruise lines and cruise guests alike, Barcelona has established itself as a key port within the Euro-Mediterranean region. Barcelona Cruise Port is proud to announce that they have become participants in the Port of Barcelona’s Sectorial Sustainability Plan initiative which is A multi-layered project aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. This initiative focuses on working towards sustainable business development through three main categories: economic, sociological, and environmental reforms.
Through recognizing their collective responsibility, Barcelona Cruise Port is revaluating certain elements of their day-to-day operation in order to work in line with these three values. Their company cars are now electric, and they have introduced a fleet of electric forklift trucks for their loading operations. On a side note, they have launched eco-friendly office practices and their “Green Team” are continuously brainstorming potential improvements. Barcelona Cruise Port is looking forward to announcing integral changes according to this strategy in the near future.
