The Passeig del Born is an ancient medieval walkway. Since the 13th century, tournaments, parties, fairs and other activities have been held. In the 16th century, victims of the Inquisition were executed in situ. In 1714 it was the place from where Villarroel prepared the last attack of the Catalan cavalry to try to expel the enemy artillery that approached the city.
